Norway-Finland

My road : Bodo, Lofoten islands, Vesteralen islands, Sandstrand, Gratangen, Andselv, Nordkjosbotn, Tromso, the Urtigruten ferry, Honningsvag, North Cape, from 22 to 2004-06-29.

I am very happy to announce you that I reached North Cape. It is not very old because I was there on 2004-06-29 after 7364 km, 109 travel days and 88 days of cycling. This is already a long way for me because this is my first cycling journey. To get there has not always been easy, I could do so by supporting certain persons and perseverance. The meetings, friendly and very warm also have contributed to this. I completed the journey faster than anticipated by borrowing the Urtigruten, a coastal ferry express, which connects Bergen to Kirkenes located on the Russian border. For my part, I took it from Tromso which gave me a different view of Norway, and reach the island of Mageroya. Then it remained me since Honningsvag 35 km to cover to reach the North Cape and I had to spend 3 hours of time trying to ride or push the bike with a wind blowing from the north at 80 km/h and temperatures barely above zero degrees, all of this on a road with 2 ascents and with no shelter.

It is the raised fist that I put the foot on the ground to the ticket office which gives the access, and the counter clerk dazed to know that I arrived by cycle from France, did not even allude to the right of entry who is requested for each person. Once back, I was alone to pitch the tent, and to put a little crazy, because the majority of visitors were by camping car or in a group of tourists. Despite the weather, I took the time to become soaked with the place by staying a whole day, and it is accompanied by French from Chambord and Vannes I entitled to a superb midnight sun. Then I could begin immediately after my descent to the south.

Since 2004-07-04, I was traveling to Finland and the the direction of Helsinki.
